hey guys. this week, we have been through a lot of problems ! first problem is brake system. We had took the risk to use the hydraulic brake system. One of the team members (Nadzmi) had fabricated the T-junction with the help of Mr Safeai (adviser). During testing, the brake showed a good result at first, but after a while, it started to leak. But, Nadzmi never give up to make the brake works well. He keeps on trying trying and trying.

Second problem is body !

We are using the carbon fiber. Actually, the body is not done by us. So, that is why there are a lot of problems occur with the body! The upper shell and lower shell does not fit so well. We had decided to leave it under the hot sun so that the upper shell will expand and fit the lower shell. Besides that, the body has a lot of small holes. we need to fill up the holes before spray the body.

Flag off!

On 24Th of May, the official flag off for the Malaysian Teams has been held at Putrajaya. Unfortunately, our car still in progress but the other teams from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) manage to complete their car.

For this year, 117 teams from 14 countries in Asia will compete in this fuel-efficiency competition at Sepang International Circuit (SIC)

Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk Fadillah Yusof, who officiated at a showcase of Malaysian teams here today, said the competition would give an opportunity for local students with a platform to develop practical hands-on engineering skills on real-life mobility challenges through the design and construction of fuel-efficient vehicles of the future.

The Steering

Hello there! I guess, some of u guys might think whether we just started our work or not. Well actually, we had started our work since early of May. But of course we had our meetings a few months before May. For your information, we have 8 members in a team.
Anyway, for this year, we are still using the same design of the body but change the material. As u all can see the pictures in previous post, the material for this year body is carbon fiber. Last 2 weeks, we had started doing the fabrication of steering. With the help of our adviser, Mr Safeai, we managed to finish the steering yesterday.

UTM Career Carnival

On 16 and 17 March 2011, has held a career carnival at Sultan Iskandar Hall, UTM Skudai. The carnival was attended by the entire company from all over Malaysia. Last but not least,the shellcompany is also involved. Shell Eco-Marathon group from UTM Skudai has joint venture with the Shell company in marketing its products and programs of the Shell Eco-Marathon 2011 to university students through this carnival. The purpose of marketing is to meet the energy challenge. Here are some enclosure at the event.
